Hey y'all! Ashley here today. I hope y'all had a fabulous weekend! As you know from this post, Andrew and I celebrated our two year wedding anniversary in Charleston, SC this past weekend. We drove down Thursday and came back Sunday. We didn't waste any time and headed straight to the beach as soon as we got there! We showered and got ready then headed to King Street and had the.best.meal.we've.ever.had. EVER. We ate at Halls Chophouse. Y'all, let me tell you something. When we lived in Atlanta, we ate at top-rated chophouses in the country and ate pretty well (and by well, I don't mean healthy..I mean good eatin'.) My point is that we have very high standards for a steakhouse. Halls lived up every.single.standard. I started my meal off with a wedge, and this was not just an ordinary wedge. Talk about crispy bacon, creamy blue cheese, avocado, topped with fresh cracked pepper. Delish. The next course was the one that won the blue ribbon for me. Filet mignon and a side of lobster mac and cheese. Doesn't get more Southern than that! We had a great meal and agreed that we will eat there every time we go to Charleston from now on! We spent all day Friday on the beach, and then my cousin, her husband and their two year old met us down there. We enjoyed the rest of the weekend digging holes in the sand, building sand castles and playing in the ocean! I absolutely adore Henry and love spending every chance I can with him! We enjoyed dinner at Poe's Tavern on Sullivan's Island and then grilled out Saturday night at the house. Overall, we had a wonderful weekend and it was so,very hard to come back to work!
Last night, on our actual anniversary, Andrew and I went and got one of our favorite meals...Hibachi! It was so much fun just laughing together and spending quality time together. I surprised Andrew and had Parkland Cakes (the company in Columbia who made our wedding cake), make us a smaller version of our wedding cake in our favorite flavor, almond amaretto. Simple yet delicious. We opened presents. I got my second David Yurman bracelet, and this adorable "Wifey" t-shirt. He got a nice, wooden Backgammon set and a new hunting backpack. Hallmark marks the second year of marriage as "cotton," so these were fitting gifts.
We had a wonderful second year of marriage, and I am so excited to see what this next year brings us...lots of new and exciting changes to come! Frank Sinatra sings it best..."The best is yet to come." And, that is so true. To my sweet, loving and very, very patient husband: the best is yet to come, and I can't wait to see what the future holds for us. You are my person, and forever that you will be.
Enjoy the pictures from this weekend. I didn't bring my dslr, so iphone pics are all I have..sorry!
Here are just a few of my favorite pictures from our wedding day!
Pretty sure I had the most beautiful bridesmaids ever!
