A Weekend in Photos

Hi y'all! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Andrew and I didn't have one.single.plan and it was the best! Don't you just love the weekends where you can just be lazy and not have anywhere to be? I know I sure do!

{This was actually on Wednesday, but it was just too much fun not to share! Greenville puts on a free concert in Falls Park every Wednesday nights during the summer. You can bring your own food and alcohol and there is live music! Mystic Vibrations was the band that played this night, and they were just so much fun! Love me some reggae. It's the perfect type of evening to get you through the rest of the week}

{Saturday was the perfect day to spend at the Swamp Rabbit Brewery and Taproom! A few of our friends invited us to go after we went to the Greenville Farmers Market (forgot to take pics), and we are not ones to turn down local beer! The menu consisted of their blue ribbon Red Whitey which is a crisp, raspberry ale. It was delicious, and it was my favorite out of the rest. The menu does rotate but a few other choices were American Pale Ale, India IPA, a malt...and a few others but I didn't get the chance to try them. I definitely recommend going if you are ever in Travelers Rest!}

{Oh! And did I mention that they have a food truck? I believe the food trucks change, but on this particular Saturday, it was Greek! We shared the Greek salad, Greek fries, and chicken souvlaki pita. So delicious!}

{We sat outside on the porch, but here are a few snaps of the inside}

{Last week for Andrew's birthday, his parents, my parents and I all surprised Andrew with a Green Egg. He has been cooking on it like crazy, and I'm definitely not going to complain! On Saturday night, he grilled the most perfect ribeyes and corn!}

{Sunday was so much fun! My friend, Rebekah, and I headed downtown to a local bead store called The Beaded Frog. We went to duplicate the ever-so-popular Bourbon and Bowtie bangles. The real ones are so precious, but a little pricey. Rebekah is so talented and taught me the ropes! I bought a roll of gold rope and three big beads and it only cost me $15. I had a lot of rope leftover, so I will be able to use it to make another. Stay tuned for the next one I'm going to make. I'll give you a hint. My husband will be going hunting this weekend, and he may give me a few shotgun shells to use!}

{Excuse the poor quality of my iPhone, but my stone is light purple and gold}

{Sunday night, Andrew wanted to try ribs for the first time on his new green egg! What is the perfect side for barbecue ribs? Macaroni and cheese of course! Doesn't get more Southern than that, my friends.}

I hope y'all had an amazing weekend, and hope you have an even better week!

Ashley

What's in my Suitcase?

Hey y'all! Ashley here, and I am so excited that my husband and I are leaving today to go to Charleston for a long weekend! We are going to celebrate our second wedding anniversary, and I am so excited to go to the beach for the first time this summer! As I was packing last night, I thought it would be fun to show you everything I'm taking with me! Because we aren't going for a super long time, I tried to pack as lightly as possible. I typically pack everything that is in my closet, so this was a hard task for me. I apologize for the horrible lighting!

{Work out clothes and under garments}

Sunday Recap: Porch, Pups and Pizza

Oh hey Loves! Is it really Monday again..... where did the weekend go? I guess it does not help matters that I had to work this past Saturday and the one before but hey, who's complaining?

 Ok, well maybe me just a little bit.

Since my Saturday was a complete whirlwind, I knew I had to slow things down on Sunday. Reid and I started this glorious day off with breakfast on the back porch. Reid whipped up some eggs, toast, coffee and Bloody Marys. The sun was shining, the birds were chirping and the dogs were actually well behaved - it was like all was right in the world. I took this opportunity to get out my new Meal Planner notebook from May Designs and worked on a plan and a grocery list going for this week.

Y'all, I am just in love with May Designs, their products are just the best and their website is so user friendly. The meal planner notebook is just great for keeping you on track of what is going on that week and how to plan dinners.

Once I felt that I had a pretty good handle on our food needs for this week, I left my post on the porch and bolted upstairs to get ready. Reid and I had plans to meet my bestie Kristen and her little one, Lily, for a yummy lunch outside at Tazza Kitchen in Short Pump. Kristen invited me to tag along with her to the Little English Sale which is currently in town and y'all, this stuff is really cute and really well priced - go check it out for sure!

I met back up with Reid at Costco and we successfully checked off all of our "to-do's" and even had time to stop by our fav ice-cream shop, Gelati Celesti

Once home and all the groceries were put away, a load of laundry started and Monday's dinner made, I retreated back to the porch for some one on one time with the computer, the pups and my fav wine while Reid prepared dinner.

Reid was the master mind behind dinner  last night and made homemade pizza in honor of our honeymoon. This exact time last year we were sitting in an amazing Italian plaza enjoying the most delish pizza and wine.  While I was at work yesterday, he made homemade pizza dough and gathered all the proper ingredients for perfect pizza. I am so lucky that my husband loves to cook and really knows his way around our kitchen. He set up a make your own pizza bar and even let me snap a few pic of him for the blog! What a sweetie!

His pizza was fabulous and took me right back to our amazing honeymoon. If only he could perfect the perfect cappuccino I would be in complete heaven.

As you can see we had a nice, normal Sunday filled with the things I love: Our back porch, our pups and my sweet hubby's pizza!

Hope your weekend was just as wonderful and that today's is a great start to your week!

xoxo,

game day and tailgate reveal: Clemson vs UGA

Did I already mention that we just had the best time at the game this past weekend? Being in Clemson is a home coming for my husband and seeing him there, happy and with his best buddies is one of my favorite things! Clemson is also a true southern university, nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, surrounded by lakes and cowfields this university is a must see!

outside Death Valley
 I don't know how to explain it, the energy in Death Valley on Saturday night was electric. Now, I must confess, I was sorta bored for the first half ....Clemson would score, Georgia would score, Clemson would give it a go and Georgia would return the favor and so on and so fourth.... Exhaustion was also setting in (we had been up since early in the am and I did not sit down all day!) so I was more than happy to trudge back through the massive crowd to our tailgate for half time. (YES Clemson does let you leave the stadium and re-enter during the game... they even stamp your hand. How very efficient????) I also must admit that the thought did cross my mind to not re-enter the game. Y'all, I.was.spent. and it was already passed 10:30pm BUT I put my big girl panties on and headed back in to watch the rest of the game. I am so glad I did!!! When Georgia missed that field goal during the 3rd quarter our Clemson Clan knew that we had a shot. The crowd began reacting to Clemson's every move and cheered our Tigers on to a glorious victory!! What a feeling to be a part of such joy and excitement!

As promised from yesterday's post, here is a snap shot of our day:
packed and ready to be loaded
boys were supposed to be packing the car!
we drove past ESPN College Game Day on Bowman Field

it's all in the details!
custom Clemson logo for our Clan! Thank you Kate and Terri for the cookies and cups!
Pimento Cheese!

just some random fun pics! Love that industrial fan we had!

poor Georgia fans!
Clemson Wins!
Well folks, other than an interesting stop off at McDonalds at 1:15am, that about sums up our day! What did you think?? Phew, I am really tired just thinking about it but so thankful we made the trip!

Later Loves!
