Celebrating 2 Years!

Hey y'all! Ashley here today. I hope y'all had a fabulous weekend! As you know from this post, Andrew and I celebrated our two year wedding anniversary in Charleston, SC this past weekend. We drove down Thursday and came back Sunday. We didn't waste any time and headed straight to the beach as soon as we got there! We showered and got ready then headed to King Street and had the.best.meal.we've.ever.had. EVER. We ate at Halls Chophouse. Y'all, let me tell you something. When we lived in Atlanta, we ate at top-rated chophouses in the country and ate pretty well (and by well, I don't mean healthy..I mean good eatin'.) My point is that we have very high standards for a steakhouse. Halls lived up every.single.standard. I started my meal off with a wedge, and this was not just an ordinary wedge. Talk about crispy bacon, creamy blue cheese, avocado, topped with fresh cracked pepper. Delish. The next course was the one that won the blue ribbon for me. Filet mignon and a side of lobster mac and cheese. Doesn't get more Southern than that! We had a great meal and agreed that we will eat there every time we go to Charleston from now on! We spent all day Friday on the beach, and then my cousin, her husband and their two year old met us down there. We enjoyed the rest of the weekend digging holes in the sand, building sand castles and playing in the ocean! I absolutely adore Henry and love spending every chance I can with him! We enjoyed dinner at Poe's Tavern on Sullivan's Island and then grilled out Saturday night at the house. Overall, we had a wonderful weekend and it was so,very hard to come back to work!
Last night, on our actual anniversary, Andrew and I went and got one of our favorite meals...Hibachi! It was so much fun just laughing together and spending quality time together. I surprised Andrew and had Parkland Cakes (the company in Columbia who made our wedding cake), make us a smaller version of our wedding cake in our favorite flavor, almond amaretto. Simple yet delicious. We opened presents. I got my second David Yurman bracelet, and this adorable "Wifey" t-shirt. He got a nice, wooden Backgammon set and a new hunting backpack. Hallmark marks the second year of marriage as "cotton," so these were fitting gifts.
We had a wonderful second year of marriage, and I am so excited to see what this next year brings us...lots of new and exciting changes to come! Frank Sinatra sings it best..."The best is yet to come." And, that is so true. To my sweet, loving and very, very patient husband: the best is yet to come, and I can't wait to see what the future holds for us. You are my person, and forever that you will be.
Enjoy the pictures from this weekend. I didn't bring my dslr, so iphone pics are all I have..sorry!

Here are just a few of my favorite pictures from our wedding day!

Pretty sure I had the most beautiful bridesmaids ever!
I spy one of my favorite bloggers in the picture below...hint, hint!
I spy two more of my favorite bloggers below...Caroline and Steph
Here are a few pictures from this weekend!
Meet Henry...or as I call him, HBR.

If you made it to the end, congrats to you! You deserve a pat on the back. I hope y'all have a wonderful Tuesday!
Give your loved one an extra hug today and let them know they are loved.

xoxo,
Ashley

Weekending

Happy Monday, y'all.

Here are the highlights of the weekend...the good, the bad and the ugly.

I only took one picture this weekend... It happened to be of some fun Lilly finds, which were not even the ones I ended up buying.

I did not get off the couch for most of yesterday other than to return my brother's 80 lb lab and finally go to the grocery store. We spent $125 on what, I just don't know...

I ate an entire Dominos medium pizza by.my.self for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

On Saturday, we made it to the farmers market, Ferguson, Lowes and Q BBQ with Tuggy (our pup) in tow and she did great!

Friday, we had the best dinner with our Friday night friends and capped the night with Ukrops' chocolate pie, Gelati Celesti and Cards Against Humanity expansion packs 1,2 and 3.

Today, I am swearing off carbs and vowing to be super productive.

Only 8 days stand between me and Turks & Caicos and boy oh boy do I have a lot to squeeze in before that happens.

Wish me luck this week, I am gonna need it!
(and quite possibly some wine)

xoxo,

Oh Hey Friday!

Happy Friday folks!

I am certainly ready for the weekend and ready for a new week. This one has sorta kicked my butt. But the weekend is now here and that is super exciting! So let's celebrate to all the wins, not the losses, from this week!
(however teeny tiny they actually are)

{grown up work bag}

Small win!
I think I have finally decided on a new work bag. Currently, I tote around a pink and navy Scout bag. While it is super cute and my laptop fits perfectly, along with all my other crap, it is not that grown up looking. I roll up to mangers meetings with my tote in tow and mine is the only one with polka dots.... hmmm.
Enter Madwell's Transport Tote.

 I am slightly obsessed with this tote. It looks like it will fit my laptop, my day planner and whatever paperwork I am working on at the moment. But I am not sure on the color. I absolutely love the English Saddle but feel like the True Black would be better for work.
Please help me decide!

{we finalized plans for our upcoming trips}

I think this is a big win, since I am the most indecisive person that ever existed.
We have finalized, booked, paid for and planned all most of our upcoming travel plans. The only thing left to do for our Turks and Caicos trip is to book a couple restaurant reservations and pack. Hallelujah!

{new face routine and make up }

Another big win in my book.
I will admit that I do not have the best night or morning routine. I used to never wash my face before slipping off to bed and hardly ever put on makeup for work. I am happy to announce that I have been making a very conscious effort to do both this week!
I have been loving this new face stuff from Elemis and can't wait to share my product reviews with you next week. Also, the bronzer in my Ipsy bag this month is AH-MAZ-ING!

 {new fav place to dine}

Yup, another win!
Reid and I have been dying to try this Indian restaurant in Cary Town called Curry Craft and our dreams came true this past Wednesday night. We have not been to the grocery store in like 2 weeks, so needless to say, selections at home were slim pickins. It was a hot and sticky night in RVA and both our days were just blah....so we hopped in the car and decided to have a little impromptu date night. I am pretty much in love with this restaurant. It was super clean and the service was great. The pricing was very reasonable and the food had tremendous flavor! We will def be back...soon!

clearly, we hated it!

Reid and I are planning a fun filled weekend in Richmond, full of farmers markets, research for our upcoming bathroom remodels and probably a bunch of really unhealthy food!

What's in my Suitcase?

Hey y'all! Ashley here, and I am so excited that my husband and I are leaving today to go to Charleston for a long weekend! We are going to celebrate our second wedding anniversary, and I am so excited to go to the beach for the first time this summer! As I was packing last night, I thought it would be fun to show you everything I'm taking with me! Because we aren't going for a super long time, I tried to pack as lightly as possible. I typically pack everything that is in my closet, so this was a hard task for me. I apologize for the horrible lighting!

{Work out clothes and under garments}

{Bathing Suits}

{Cover Ups}

{Dresses}

{Toiletry Bag}
Shower items were added later!

{SPF and lotions}

{Makeup}

{Makeup in Tarte traveling case}

{Toiletries and hair supplies}

{Most of my bags...there's more}

{Beach bag, cooler, Andrew's golf bag}

{Our favorite beer and wine}

I hope y'all enjoyed today's short post! I hope everyone has a great weekend, and I will talk to y'all next week! Be sure to follow our adventures this weekend on Instagram @ashleyceck

Wanderlust Wednesday: Upcoming Travel Plans.

Hey!

I just realized that I have not done a Wanderlust Wednesday post in quite some time. I took a break from our honeymoon posts because I was missing Europe too much.

We just booked a lot of travel that we are super excited about.
 Reid made the really hard decision this year to not buy Clemson season tickets. Chesson, I know you must be shocked! I just want Blogland to know that I did not force this decision on him. He made it himself. It will be super hard not seeing our beloved Clemson family this fall BUT I think we have some really fun trips up our sleeves.

Here is what our next couple months look like:

{august}

30th Birthday Trip to Turks and Caicos

Yay!
Only 14 more days to go until we are on the pristine beaches of Turks and Caicos with a drink in our hand and toes in the sand. I am planning a detailed post next week to fill you in on all the goodies.

Washington D.C.

Reid's sister, Kristen and her boyfriend, Josh are visiting the DC area for a work event... so we are sneaking up to see them.  We just have the best time with these two. It is purely for selfish reasons that I love Josh so much. He is my partner in crime during family events, he is a talker like me, he now likes J.Crew, he did not attend South Carolina or Clemson, and he makes my stellar SIL so super happy. We can't wait to see these two crazy kids!
We visited them in Dallas this past January... sorry, the pic is a little grainy.....iphone

Bangor, Maine

We are headed way up north to check out the newest member of our Clemson crew. Our dear friends Stephanie and Justin just welcomed their handsome, blonde babe Gray into the world and I am just itching to get my hands on him. Most of you may already know our Newlyweds North gal but what you may not know is that we have been friends for a long time...since those awkward middle school years. After college, we randomly bumped into each other in Charlotte, became roommates, met, and married best friends. Reid and I have been looking for an excuse to visit these new parents since they moved to Maine last year and we think Gray's arrival fits the bill perfectly.
Steph....are you drinking a Sparks?
And clearly we need an updated pic together as this one was taken from our first Clemson football season.

Boston, Mass. & Newport, RI

Lucky us!
 Reid's cousin is getting married in Newport, Rhode Island, which is not too far from Boston....so we are just going to make the most of this trip and hit up both! I have never been to Boston or RI so I am pretty much thrilled. What makes it even better is that two of my favorite bloggers have shared their Boston trips here, here and here this summer making my "must see" list longer and longer!

What travel plans do you have cooking?

Hope you have a fantastic Wednesday and chat with y'all later!

Summer Lovin' Tag

Hey y'all and Happy Tuesday! Ashley here today, and I'm posting something different than I've ever blogged about before, so I am super excited about that! As you know, I love watching my favorite Youtube beauty gurus whenever I get the chance! One of my all-time favs, Fleur De Force, started a tag called The Summer Lovin' Tag. She came up with 10 questions of her favorite summer things and answered them, then tagged other gurus to do the same. Once they are tagged, they answer the questions, then tag more friends...and so forth. I will not be filming a video like they all have, but will be answering them for you on here! I thought it would be fun to find out what other bloggers favorite summer items were! Let's get started.

{Question 1}:
Summer Lipstick you're loving?
This is a hard one for me. I love a peachy/coral nude for the summer and there are SO many options but my favorite as of lately has to be the Bite Beauty High Pigment Pencil in Syrah.

{Question 2}:
Summer nail polish you're loving?
Again. SO hard. I am going to break the rule and list more than one because I can't narrow it down.

{Question 3}:
Bikini you're loving this summer?
To be honest, I have only bought one bikini this year because I just haven't gotten to get to the beach as much as I'd like...so the only one I bought would be my favorite! It is from Target.

{Question 4}:
Favorite Summer Frappuccino from Starbucks?
Hands down...white chocolate mocha frappuccino!
via

{Question 5}:
Favorite fake tan?
I would much rather prefer to get a natural tan, but because I haven't had a lot of opportunities this summer, I would say the St. Tropez Self Tan Starter Kit has been my go-to!

{Question 6}:
Favorite summer song?
Honestly, y'all are going to make fun of me for this one but it is just so dang catchy! I hate that I love it...but, sorry I'm not sorry.
I'm So Fancy by Iggy Azalea

{Question 7}:
Favorite summer accessory?
Again, I don't have just one. These are my staple pieces that I wear pretty much everyday, but change out the statement necklace and earrings. My Michael Kors watch, David Yurman bracelet, and weddings rings (not pictured) are my classic pieces, but then usually change out the necklace and earrings for something more fun and summery!

{Question 8}:
Favorite summer fragrance/perfume?
I have recently purchased two new perfumes because I hadn't bought a bottle of perfume in probably three years! Burberry Body is the perfect summer fragrance for me this year.

{Question 9}:
Summer book you're loving?
I know this is SO bad but I have only read one book this summer and I'm embarrassed to even admit what it was. Again, sorry I'm not sorry.
via

{Question 10}:
What are you most excited to do this summer?
I am most excited for this upcoming anniversary weekend with my husband! We will be celebrating our second wedding anniversary in Charleston for a very long and much needed weekend! Here is a picture from the day we got engaged three years ago in the Charleston Battery!

Also, I am so missing our honeymoon in St. Lucia! Totally wish we were going back soon!

There you have it! I would like to continue this Summer Lovin' Tag and tag each and every one of you to keep the tag going! Please share your post with me as I would love to see it!
Have a great day!

xoxo,
Ashley
